GL2 sound sync in NLE
Can anyone tell me whether the GL2 is one of the Canon cameras that requires sound sync adjustment for long clips in NLE (specifically, the "Sync Adjust Movies" feature in FCP3)?

Yes, it requires the sync adjust to be on.

Is this because of audio drifiting? Am I right in thinking that this happens on all DV cameras, and is only remedied by having a camera with locked audio (DVCAM etc)?
|
Yes, locked audio solves the problem entirely. It can also be solved by the NLE. During the copying of the data the NLE can count the audio samples (frames) and lock the audio in that manner. Most NLE's automaticaly count the audio samples. Some, like FCP must be told to count the audio samples.
