thick horizontal lines during playback WHY?

I went to capture some footage today from my GL2 and noticed i had thick horizontal gray/black lines running across the screen during playback.

Anyone else had this problem and know why this is? I have only about 20 hours on this camera.

Thanks

im thinking after trying the tape in another camera its a bad tape... You all agree?

Its a bad tape!

I forwarded the tape to about 7 minutes...(noticed i had a broken timestamp) and was able to salvage some of the video...not a total loss... neverless, but still disappointing. I guess there is a lot to be said for pre striping a tape eh?

No, dropouts happen. The better the tape, the less likely; the fewer uses, the less likely. Pre-striping will only put wear on the tape.

Just make sure that you record enough extra so you can back up and not have gaps in the tape. And that has nothing to do with dropouts, just ease of capturing the video.
