As a beginner, it is so much easier seeing visible examples along with commentary to explain the various situations. I really like the exposure examples where the speaker 'locks exposure' on a single sign for instance and then all the passers-by do not affect the shot (as demonstrated in AE mode).

I then saw this tip on the site:

"Get the correct exposure. The spot meter function on your Sony Handycam allows you to choose the area of your shot that you want to expose correctly. Remember to set the exposure back to automatic when you've finished."

I was just wondering if the XM2 has this function, or whether he is talking about more expensive cameras? I flicked through the manual and checked the index at the back for 'spot meter' but have not found anything.
