Any one have any suggestions on how to mount a shotgun mic and a on-board light to the GL2?

B&H has a coldshoe mount "splitter", if you will, that splits one shoe into two. You'll have to search for it though, cause I'm way too lazy.

I just bought one of these, since I do wedding videos.
BTW this adaptor is a "cold shoe"

SIMA offers a low cost (about $15 give or take) VideoBracket, SVB-1, that screws onto the tripod socket and provides two cold shows off to the side. Not very fancy but it works for light stuff. See it at

I also recommend the Fig Rig. It's not too expensive, holds all my equipment on it. My mic, lights(more than 1 if needed), beachtek, LANC, firestore, etc. Mounts right on to a tripod, and also a wicked hand held tool. The angles and places you can put this thing in are amazing. I also use it for my FX1 too. Quite light even with all the stuff I pile on it.

IMHO the figg rig would be the best having to be mobil. The B&H seems to me to put a lot of stress on the GL2 where as something like the simca would be better for you could put your mike on the hot shoe and the light on the outrigger part plus having a grip.

I've got that Mamiya Double shoe adaptor. Sadly, the locking ring is plastic and it won't fit on a mini-rover. It's fairly secure though, but I'd be careful how much weight you put on it.
