Infrared
My old Sony Hi-8 camcorder had "night vision". It emitted an infrared signal and allowed filming in total darkness, of course with a greenish cast, but none the less, it enabled getting shots that were impossible otherwise. Is there an external infrared source that could be attached to the GL2. Even a held device would suffice. Thanks.

This would come in very handy for me aswell

You can buy IR illuminators, I think Sony has marketed at least one for consumer use, but whether or not they would do any good with the GL2 I do not know. I've not ready any reports of anyone doing it with success
The optics and prism have to be designed to pass IR information, the CCD chips (at least one of the CCDs) to read the IR signal, and the camcorder electronis to process such as signal into an image. See the thread in XL1 for some intersting info. And check http://www.electrophysics.com/Browse...ID=152&Area=NV for a device what works on the GL2 |
Thank you Don for your reply. I will do more research on infrared.
