Buy a heads cleaner, they can be bought anywhere that sells tapes and range from 5-20 dollars.

make sure you buy the DRY TYPE too

Ok thanks...How often do you do that to the camara?

Use the dry tapes cleaners, not a wet proces cleaner.

The book says clean when you see artifacts of dirty heads. Some also suggest cleaning if you change brand of tape after a steady diet of one brand.

Thanks...How long do you usually run those in the camara? And when you run them do you acually hit record or just play...?

There will be instructions on the package. They are usually played for around 10 seconds though.
