Canon Optura SLR-Style design

Hello everyone! I was looking to but this camera and just didn'tk now a lot about it. I went to Canon's web site and looked it up. It seems to have a great picture and a couple of features that no other Mini-DV cam has in my eyes. Progressive scan CCD that work like a 3 chip and also a RBG Primary Color Filter. No other cam that i know has this. It's only a one chip but the progressive scan gives the power of a 3chip. Also the RBG filter splits up the Red, Blue and the Green just like a 3 chip cam does. he rare true progressive 30p mode emulates the look of film and rivals the picture of 24p cams. This camera is very intresting especially for a person who don't have $2000 to buy a bigger cam. If any of you guys know anything about this let me know. Any input will help..

Hi Derrick, the Optura line has been discontinued, and the model you're referring to was discontinued aournd 1997. Canon's latest offerings can be found in our HV10/HV20 forums.

What is the name of that camera? It was in TITANIC. I thought it was called an X1 or X2 but I can't find it on google.

Nevermind. Its an L2.

The L2 also looks kind of like an SLR. But the MV1 is defitintely the one he's talking about.

Derrick A.Jones May 14th, 2007 05:30 PM
