I am a bit surprised to hear so much hiss with NTG2.

It's supposed to be a shotgun - it shouldn't have problems recording sound from 2 meters distance.

Did you try different levels on beachtek or in camera?

The hiss is not too bad. Motor noise is worse.

Try setting the RODE's attenuator to -10 or -20dB. The switches are inside the battery compartment

my beachtek is set to max cause thats what they told me to have the settings on.. the only change in settings were on the cam itself.
