Tripod for HV20
 

I have a shoot coming up where my HV20 will act as a fixed/B cam for a wide angle shot (my XH-A1 will be main/A cam).
I need a tripod recommendation. I am considering either the Matthews M25 or the Libec TH-M20. Anyone used either of these with a HV20?
Alternatives..?

I bought one of those Libecs with my vx1000 years ago. Its a great cheap tripod.

It works great with the hv20 too. Only complaint: a bit on the short side.

Here's an odd thought, get something you could use for other purposes. I have a set of Bogen legs that extends to over 80" (maybe 90") with a cheap Bogen video head on it. It works great with my HV20 locked down as a b-cam and almost goes to skycam heights;-)

I made the mistake once of NOT putting my HV20 into Cine mode when shooting b with my XH A1. It took multiple color correction filters to fix that mistake.

Doug, apologies for my ignorance, but what was the reason for Cine mode on the HV20?

The Matthews M25 & the Libec TH-M20 use the same legs, different heads.

The Cine mode features muted colors, different gamma, and a tad less sharpening all to allow a greater dynamic range in the image. Comes closer to the way film treats color and contrast than video presets.

I use it for most of what I do.
