fantastic! when/where will the movie be available? what did you use for sound?

Hi Adam, the movie is finished, so we'll try to go for the round of festivals and will see then :) For sound, we had an amazing sound person. He used digital HD recorder, with wireless mics and boom, but not sure which recorder exactly...

hey everybody, I'm the Cinematographer for "Theo", thank you very much for the feedback!
I really liked working both with the HV20 and the HD100..

The only drawback I found on the HD100 is the bulkiness, and with the mini35 is the light loss... but no problems with natural light at all... for it to look good, you have to be careful with your exposure and everything will be fine...

I really really love it! Not more then my Canon 1014XL Super8mm camera... =) but I love it!

1080 24p with 720 24p ?
 

Theo is very nice shot.
How was the editing workflow, when you guys probably had to put together scenes shot (guessing) in 720 24p and 1080 24p (with pulldown removal)?Wasn`t it a bit confusing?

Hi Ron, a lot of it was experimentation, meaning we had to work out on the spot how to extract 24p from the HV20 footage, whether to "reverse telecine" it or use MPEG Streamclip or other software. Things like that. We used HV20 for about 30% of the film and in the end I decided NOT to pull-down footage (MPEG streamclip, etc) but rather drop it directly onto the 720P timeline (HD100 timeline) and let it render. For my purposes it worked great (except one shot where I wanted a slow motion - it came out very jittery...), because I wasn't going for clean, sterile images that digital video produces, but wanted, rather "dirty" and "grainy" images. These "grainy" images are not in the trailer, except maybe the scooter shot... They are mostly in the film itself. In any case, scenes were intentionally shot to be "grainy" with high shutter and low-lighting so no matter what I would have done with them they would still be grainy, etc.

Great shot! I like this trailer very much! I hope to see the full version film, not just because there is my motherland language in it (i'm about Georgian language), but because I think Georgians can shot films in the different point of view and the end of this film must be interesting and unexpected!
