Oh man that's awesome for home videos, I wonder if you can fit a 35mm adapter one one these things..

Wes Vasher August 2nd, 2006 10:30 AM

The digital still photo features a histogram on the display. I wonder if this is visible during capture or only playback. Also, too bad there isn't one while capturing video.

Any word on audio inputs, headphone jacks ,etc ? thanks

Chris Hurd August 2nd, 2006 03:35 PM

There's an AV in/out that can be assigned as a headphone jack. There is no dedicated phones jack however, nor is there a mic input.

Kurth Bousman August 2nd, 2006 06:26 PM

and according to the specs nor is there an accessory shoe , however , what is that cover right behind the lens on top ?

Duane Prince August 2nd, 2006 08:13 PM

..more than likely, the mic....

Chris Hurd August 2nd, 2006 08:30 PM

Kurth I don't think that's anything other than a badge. The built-in stereo mic is on the top rear, just above the viewfinder, you can see the grille for it there.

David Ziegelheim August 2nd, 2006 09:45 PM

Are you saying it will have fewer audio features than an Optura 50, which has mic input, headphones, and manual audio controls?

Kurth Bousman August 2nd, 2006 10:35 PM

Chris- I saw one image, I believe in another site , where whateveritis behind the lens looked very similar to the new sony proprietary accessory shoe door on the hc90. If the only sound input is the rear mike , then that'll be a shame. Otherwise it's a beauty.

Chris Hurd August 2nd, 2006 11:25 PM

Hi Kurth, is it this image?

http://www.hdvinfo.net/articles/cano...s/hv10topb.jpg

Unfortunately that's just the "CMOS" badge, I don't think there's anything underneath it.

Bruce S. Yarock August 3rd, 2006 03:02 AM

Chris,
Could you also playback tapes shot on Sony Fx1?

Bob Thompson August 3rd, 2006 03:28 AM

Chris,

Do you think that it could record in PAL and NTSC SD DV format

Chris Hurd August 3rd, 2006 06:43 AM

Bruce -- that questioned answered here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showpost....0&postcount=20

Bob -- the $500 PAL upgrade is not offered for the HV10, sorry.

Kurth Bousman August 3rd, 2006 10:55 AM

Chris - that wasn't it but you're obviously correct. So the only audio input is thru the rear incamera mike ? That certainly distinguishes the prosumer vs. consumer models doesn't it ? thanks
