Hi

I simply adjusted the levels and added a little sharpness (I think?). It was done very quickly and I didn't save the files !

But a quick re-grade later and here is a very rough idea of the kind of thing involved.

Attached is a screen shot for the levels panel in After Effects, there are four panels on display but in reality it is a single panel and you access the other three by pulling down the little selector at the top (circled in red).

The controls I adjusted I have stuck a little green blob on.

The only guidance I would give you is to adjust the master 'RGB' levels first to get a good dynamic range (make the darkest areas black and the lightest areas white, instead of dark grey and light grey). See attached movie for a rough run through.

Thanks Lee - thats great
I havent really tried to use AE yet as I have mainly experimented with Vegas but I will give it a look.

I cant check the filefactory file at the mo since it says I have exceeded my allowance by downloading more than 1000mb (which I highly doubt!)

Just as an aside have you used the magic bullet 24p deinterlacing in AE? I just wondered if its worth the outlay?!

Magic bullet is very very good on some material, it is also very slow and very expensive, I only have the demo.
