Best Custom Settings for HV10
Hi,
I searched the forum but could not find any posts about this topic. What are the best setting for sharpness, color saturation, contrast and brightness? What do most people prefer? Thanks. |
I think you're in the realm of subjectivity there. What's best for one person is not going to be best for another. The important thing is that the options are there, and you can change those settings to match your own particular style.

So I was wondering what the opinion was for the HV10. I am surprised that this topic has not been discussed yet for the HV10. It was certainly discussed a lot for the Sony HC1. |
There really isn't a whole lot of customization to the picture, do what looks best. I change the settings for different looks, there isn't a one size fits all setting, or they would have put it at that setting and left it.

Well the HC1 and HV10 are two totally different cameras. If the color and sharpness was off on the HC1 (which like Chris said is subjective) that doesn't mean the same thing happens on the HV10.

The HV10's PQ is pretty darned good right out of the box. I haven't seen any need to tweak it so far.

Intense
May be intense mode, optical stabilizer off, manual focus and a good tripod...(for me).

To really make this camera shine OUTDOORS:
ND 6 Filter. Change the setting to VIVID. Beautiful picture quality. |
The default sharpening is not too high, it's just about right.
The saturation is consumeresque, I like it turned down to - Contrast is too high for me, I turned it down to - Left brightness alone... Just my $0.02 |
