The links do not lead to HV-20 samples.

You need to right click on the links and "save as" to d/load them, then watch them.

Looks like the HC1 is more noisy, even in low light. I thought the image quality would differ less in daylight but even then it's like night and day. HV20 = Wow.

Geoff Murrin March 20th, 2007 08:13 AM

I tried to download them to my Macbook but all I get is a blank icon that says
"file does not exist".

Prech Marton March 20th, 2007 08:30 AM

maybe that is because illegal (?) character in URL.
please use only normal chars and numbers in URL,
i also interested in file, but cant download

Mike Horrigan March 20th, 2007 08:33 AM

Worked for me on Mac OSX

The HV20 samples seem a little more contrasty but more definition and a bit less noise. Frankly, both look pretty good for consumer level cameras. I'm assuming there's a way to adjust the image on the HV20 to flatten the gamma a bit?

Kris Galuska March 20th, 2007 10:09 AM

Played with it this morning at B&H.

Wow!

It was way to close to a Sony V1u or Canon A1 fo a $1100 camera.

i would like to see a hv10 vs hv20 demonstration.
is there any difference in interlaced mode?
the optics and the cmos are the same, right?

(i dont want hdmi, nor mic in)

James Klatt March 20th, 2007 03:31 PM

For all of you OS X users...I found the download only works in FireFox, and not Safari or Explorer. "Save link as"

Lorry Smyth March 20th, 2007 03:57 PM

Fabulous image quality for a sub-$1000 consumer camera!!! Kudos for Canon. I have mine also on its way from B&H a few day from now. Cannot wait! I will be matching it with the Sony DSR-60 external HD recorder for a tapeless solution... let's hope both pieces of hardware talk to each other without problems.

Michael Daul March 20th, 2007 07:17 PM

The hv20 looks great in those clips for sure. Something about the shot of the green leaves from the hc1 looks really wrong. I know I've shot really nice footage of plants with mine, although maybe if I had an hv20 to compare to I'd see the same huge difference...
