Steve, thanks for your work on the standalone exe. I've got it working great..and it's infinitely faster than my previous workflow with aftereffects.

On your web page these two dead links need to be corrected to:

TIVTC plugin: http://avisynth.org/warpenterprises/...l_20060508.zip
MPAsource: http://www.avisynth.org/warpenterpri...l_20040109.zip

Also the .avs template file is not there..I just created a text file and copied this in:

v=MPEG2Source("__vid__")
a=MPASource("__aud__")
audiodub(v,a)
TFM(d2v="__vid__")
tdecimate()

Thanks Dennis.

I'll update those links and put the template.avs contents up there as well. I'm not sure why the template.avs file won't download. Makes no sense to me. I can download it internally on my network, but not externally. The .EXE will download though. Very strange indeed.

What's the difference between NEO HDV and AspectHD? I seem to understand AspectHD comes with all the bells and whistles to be used in Premiere Pro.. then what about NEO HDV? What will be the workflow of using NEO HDV? It's half the cost.. :)

If you not using Premiere Pro, NEO HDV is an excellent solution. Premiere Pro however really benefits from the real-time acceleration Aspect HD offers. Both NEO and Aspect support 24p capture, pulldown extractions, and media conversions, and both have 15-day trials. You can use NEO HDV generated files with Premiere, but there will be no real-time support or integrated Premiere capture.

David,

Thanks for your information. SO what NeoHDV be used? Does it come with any NLE? Can I use NeoHDV to capture Cineform AVI then import to Premiere for editing?

Thanks

Taky

Yes. But try both NEO HDV and Aspect HD first, to see what you prefer.

1.0.0.15 of standlone

Steve, not sure if it's my imagination but the new 1.0.0.15 of the standalone process appears to run VirtualDubMod faster for the same codec settings (using WMV9 Lossy). I see you've appended some new lines to the syl file used for re-encode, are those performance tweaks?

Dennis Wood May 27th, 2007 10:16 AM

Steve, your .avs file may be blocked (because of the extension) by the web server itself. Try zipping it. If you need bandwidth (for downloads etc.) let me know and we'll set you up. I posted a link to your page over at dvxuser so folks there could have a look. Once set up, the standalone .exe is, IMHO, the easiest method to deal with HV20 pulldown removal I've seen yet. Having the .xml template that can be saved is a nice touch.

Steve Szudzik May 27th, 2007 11:06 AM

Mike, are there new lines there for the .syl? When I made the template file conversion, I just write out the previously set defaults from my resource file into the new xml file. Those should be the same as they were before. At least I don't remember changing them! It's good to hear that it might be faster though.

Dennis, yes, it does seem like my IIS server is preventing those extensions for external machines. I renamed it to template.avs.txt and then it downloads just fine. I'm not too worried about bandwidth for this little app but I did go ahead and zip it up along with the avs file. I'll update the documentation shortly to point at the new zip file...
