Nice work! Can you tell me the software (vegas?) settings and camera settings (other than 60i) for the slow motion? Thanks a bunch!

I am going crazy trying to render a short music video in vegas 7. I can get all the clips togetehr and synced and they are all in native m2t but I cannot get the stupid thing to render. How did you import your vid into vegas and what settings did you use for rendering

Since he used cineform it's likely that he converted the files to AVI. That's what I do when removing pull-down while capturing with NEO HDV by cineform.

Solomon, what's the music you used in the video?

Solomon Chase May 22nd, 2007 10:06 PM

Hey everyone!

The music is "Jeremy Enigk - A New Beginning"
I threw out 75% of footage I shot :) 30 mins of shooting, an hour of editing and color grading etc.

I just used the default 720p WMV export from vegas

Rolling shutter question

I'm newby in DV shooting, so maybe this is a silly question.
What's really is "Rolling shutter" mean? Isn't is used when manufacturing doors and windows? And how did you use it in your shooting?

Thanks for your reply. I'm waiting for it.

Rolling shutter is a problem some cheaper cameras have. It make the image slant and wobble if you move camera and pan too fast.

possibly a stupid question, but ill ask anyway.

i see alot of people rendering at 1280x720. But the footage thats shot is 1440x1080, and they are different ratios. Am I missing something?

same aspect ratio (16:9) but just different HD format, 720P instead of 1080i, mainly because 720p is the prefferred format on the web, faster downloading/streaming.

I already wanted this camera, so just went in here to find some footage from it, and after viewing alot of mediocre ones, I found this. GODDAMN! it really shows that this camera isn't just worh the money, it's worth twice as much. and to think that this was "only" 720p as opposed to it's 1080i capabilites...

there's no doubt in my mind anymore, I'm buying this. now. :) Nice video Solomon.

That was sweet
