Re: Burned artifacts in viewfinder!

There is NO excuse for a camera in this price range to have an issue with the EVF. The hi-tech answer, using a plastic plug, is not the proper way to fix this problem. Canon should have a general recall to address the reason why the EVF is sensitive to sunlight. We all can't be unaware of this problem after purchasing the camera. Totally unacceptable.

In less than a week, I've got bad blobs in the viewfinder - bad enough to interfere with normal use. I knew about this issue and was careful not to let the eyepiece point toward the sun.

It's still a problem.

I don't get why I used the cam out in the sun for a full year and never had a problem, with others it happens very early, while obviously many more owners seem to have no problem at all.

I have shot with prosumer cams since my AG456 Pana too long ago to recall, thru GL1s, GL2s, one Sony couple more SD Panas, and Prosumer JVC cams. I shoot 100 hours of video a year the same way now as I have with all those for going on two decades and not once has a problem like this ever anything come about.

Very frustrating for when I finally get a decent cam to upgrade my business and this happens.
