XF100 and XF300 New Release?

Any news of a XF100 or XF300 new release?

Nope. The only new items at the Canon NAB booth were two new Cine prime lenses and the new XA20 and XA25 cameras:

That pretty well seals it for me then, I'm buying a 305 finally.

Mark, you won't look back. Really do view the "free" demos that explain spme of the "top level" features.

When is it due?

Grazie

Hopefully next month. Most of my work is ENG stuff and the station I travel for gives me a big shoulder mounted XDCAM to use but I would like to have something smaller for lugging around cities.

It's a great camera, no matter what some say. Youwon't regret it.

With the new XA cameras and the price drop of the 100 and 300 one would suspect a new version of the XF line.

The XF 100 with a 20x lense would be a great camera for my needs.

Agreed. Oh yes . . . .

The XF100 should've had the 20x on it from the get-go. And, somebody please correct me, the XA100 doesn't have NDs???

They give with one hand and they take with the other . . . .

My ancient SD PAL XM2 (GL2) has both: NDs and 20x zoom. Douh.......

Here's my standard for this entry level now:-

1] 20x

2] 3 NDs

3] HD 1920x1080p and i

4] 422 colourspace AND SDI out.

5] XLRs

6] BIGGER 3xCMOS

7] l'm open to negotiate on the following: much faster lens; 444; over/under crank; 40x zoom but more rather wide and manual switches no Menu nonsense . . .

Why aren't you using a xf300 or c300?

I really like my XF100 - the 20x lens would make it far larger, and a completely different product for a different target user. No, it doesn't have hardware NDs, just a similar effect using the iris. I don't think anything under $4500 has true NDs anymore. It does have full 1080p, 4:2:2, HDMI out (but not sdi), and under/over cranking.

I hope they keep an XF100-like product in the line. My only request would be for better low light with less noise (different sensor/faster lens, etc.), slightly sharper lens, and 60fps at 1080p instead of just at 720p. If they are not going to add more manual controls, true NDs, and several of the other things I've mentioned, then they should drop the price to $2K or so.
