Kittens being born--captured with A1.

WARNING!!!! This MAY not be suitable for all audiences! It does contain images of kittens actually being born!

I made this clip basically because our cat was pregnant and I was searching for info and found a site for pregnant cats, but the videos looks crappy and are mostly youtubish..... so, if the site owner likes it, he can use it, but anyways, it is pretty neat.

Check it out here: http://www.jcdv.com/kittens.htm

Very nicely done Jerome. Good choice of music too.

How did you convert to Flash?

Thanks. I make a high quality WMV and feed that into On2 Flix Standard encoder.

Jerome,
That was very nice - I'm not squeamish so I also found it interesting.
The color in the clip looked great.
Did you use any particular preset for this video?

Thanks
Jim

Thanks. It was one that Steven Dempsey posted in one of his threads, but I altered it a little. I was just experimenting.

Great clip. Could easily be used for education on nature and its miracles. One thing I couldn't tell as the 3rd and 4th were being born. Who's brief squeal was that during the exit, momma's or the kitten's?

Thanks. That was the momma cat squealing... baby kittens don't have lungs coming out like human babies. In fact, kittens appear dead when first born. They have that sack around them, the momma licks the sack off, thus stimulating the blood circulation in the kitten and "bringing it to life".

I can fully appreciate how it would be momma cat. Not unlike some of the sounds heard during human birth.

Didn't know about the sack, I knew that momma has to chew the umbilical cord off. I guess that sack is a lot like the placenta in humans, just that ours ruptures before birth and follows behind.

Yeah, the placenta followed, it was really gross and I didn't have a great shot of it so I left that out. Look at #4 being born, you'll see the sack with the "juices" flowing.......
