Hotel Imagefilm Footage

A few weeks ago I was in Turkey to shoot a low budget imagefilm for a Hotel there. I did the camera and since i donīt do the editing I only put some scenes I liked together with some music under it.

Nice footage Max. Did you use any particular preset ? I like the colour and clarity of the shots. Nice use of DOF by the way.

Paul Watkins August 31st, 2007 11:40 AM

great footage. love the lighting effects you applied.

Trish Kerr August 31st, 2007 11:44 AM

great movement in the shooting as well. What did you use to get the smooth dollylike shots? All slow moving but nicely done.

Was the framerate 25?

Max,

Very nice video. Great lighting and great camera movement as well. Really nice colors too.

Like Trish I have the same questions.

Shiv Kumar August 31st, 2007 01:37 PM

In the Buffet shot, are you pulling the focus manually?

Jerome Cloninger August 31st, 2007 05:47 PM

I can't get it to play. I downloaded it and removed the fake zip extension to a mov file, but says its a file quicktime can't understand. Also tried to open in winzip, but no dice either....

Please tell us the preset you used, it's too damn good! Are the clips color corrected in post? What about the method you used to create this file? It's too good and detailed, how did you downconvert it?

Thanks!
Alex

I made the dolly shots with a trolley of the hotel, I just put the tripod on it. It wasnīt possible to move it faster because of vibrations.
Yes it was all shot in 25f with 1/50 shutter (Pal Land)

The colors are slightly boosted in fcp.
I downconverted it with Compressor directly out of the Final Cut Pro timeline. The specs were something like this: h264, data rate 2000 k/bit

Alessandro Nucci September 2nd, 2007 11:32 AM

Thanks for your explanations. Did you use a wide angle lens? If it is so, which model?

Alex

Max Huettermann September 2nd, 2007 02:48 PM

No, I didnīt use one. I think the wideangle capabilities of the A1 are quite nice especially when you shoot HD.

Really nice soft flow... I like it..

Jerome Cloninger September 3rd, 2007 11:30 AM

Max, I got it to work finally. It was worth redownloading a few times! Good shots and you could send this to the hotel and let them use it on their lobby TVs.

Alessandro Nucci September 6th, 2007 07:16 AM

A new question: any light kit used? Or just a smart use of natural light available?
