High frequency flicker in DV

Hi all.
Testing DV 25f on XH-A1 vs. my DVXa.
I see a very troublesome flickering on fine straight lines (vertical, horizontal it doesn't matter). Lowering sharpness a lot does reduce it, but then I prefer my DVX, also with his noise on dark areas.
Any suggestion? Coring? H detail? V detail?
I see nobody mention this problem. Is it because it isn't an issue when shooting hdv?
Thanks

Yes, I find that same issue as well in DV. The A1 is made for HDV.
Shoot in HDV and downconvert to SD for the best results.

try encoding to a progressive(deinterlaced) output

Hello, I think I can help.
This camera does not work at its best when shooting in SD. This is because the lens and imaging sensors are designed for HD pictures, these high frequencies need to be suppressed before down conversion. The camera uses simple inadequate downconversion filtering which you see as aliasing in your picture.
The problem can be resolved by fitting an optical diffuser on the lens. Try a 1/4 Black Promist or similiar.
Simon.

Unfortunately a ProMist isn't effective, I think. I already mounted my M2 adapter and it doesn't solve the problem.
Thanks for answering
