A1 underwater housing rental

I have a job in November that will involve some surface and just under water work with my A1. Does anyone know where I can rent a nice housing that has controls.

I will be flying from Rhode Island to the Bahamas for the job.

They look nice but outside my budget since it will be a 9 day trip.

If you're not diving and just holding the camera in the water a little, as your post indicates, you might check out Ewa. But my diving experience is that if you take an expensive camera underwater, you need a really good quality underwater housing. And you want to make sure the O-rings are in good shape and you know what you're doing when you seal it all up. I killed a perfectly good Nikonos many years ago because I was careless in checking an O-ring that should have been replaced.

Thanks Bill I am looking into the EWA but it scares me with the plastic against the camera.

I will only be at the most 10 feet down. Most of the time at the surface shooting in the waves at dusk. There are other options that I have looked into in the $2400 range to buy but not sure how long I will be using the A1.

Good info on the O-Rings. Most of my nav equipment is water proof and we service the o-rings monthly.
