Shotgun Mic?

I just ordered this kit and wondering if it is a good choice for the XH A1. I didn't do much checking, and if its not a good setup can exchange it.

Thanks

That's a decent mic for the money. I see they give you a shock mount; you'll need a boom pole too and some cables.

The Sennheiser ME66/K6 combo is a good shotgun mic for video.

I would not suggest the Azden for serious video use for the following reasons:
Compared to other short shotguns in the same general price range; e.g., the AT-897 or Rode NGT-2, the Azden has:
Higher output impedance ( ~2x)
Poorer signal to noise ratio (~ 7 dB)
1% distortion at a substantially lower sound pressure level (~5-15 dB depending on power source)
Less dynamic range, (~13-27 dB)
does not appear to support phantom power
and I suspect that the Omni capsule would be of limited use for video.

But it is somewhat cheaper, and might meet your needs.
