Shooting basketball, 30f or 60I?

I've just made the leap from the GL2 to the A1. I've shot hundreds of games, some for broadcast with the GL2 but the A1 is a totally different animal. I've read lots of opinions on each framerate. I've seen the 60i slo motion clips and they look great but the clarity of the A1's 30f is also impressive. I already know I'm shooting in HDV and downconverting to SD so I'm just confused on which framerate to shoot in. 30F or 60i? 24 looks great but with all the camera moves it is out of the question. If possible, I'd like to have a totally progressive workflow but I'm not sure if this is possible. If any of you have had a chance to shoot anything where there is a lot of zooming and panning to follow action involved I'd love to see a clip.

Definitelly 60i. You camera movements will be much much smoother.

Thanks Ivan, I did a test and you are right. I was thinking more about post without thinking about shooting in the best format. Now I have to worry about deinterlacing, any better options than the ones in
Premiere Pro CS3?

Deinterlacing and Slow Motion in HD works very good in Edius.
