Headphone Volume

I can't get the headphones volume up enough to be significant source of monitoring, at least using the built-in mic or a mini-jack shotgun mic (Rode Video Mic). Any leads?

Dang! I found the answer! The little menu scroll wheel, when not in 'menu' mode, doubles as a headphone volume switch! I'll be darned!

Well done, Erick!

When you really need to monitor the sound (loud music from a live performance, for instance), I can't actually hear what's coming out of the headphones.

Any suggestions?

Closed ear headphones or some decent ear buds that seal off the outside world :)
