Petri thanks for the useful information. So it weems that even if I record in stero using two different mics (one pointed left the other right) that I will still have the option to separate them in post. Is this correct?

Note that the Sennheiser K6/ME66 is more sensitive than the Rode NTG-2, i.e. it produces a stronger electric signal for the same volume of sound. Therefore you will need to set the audio levels manually, with a higher level for the Rode than for the Senn. If you leave audio on Auto, I think the levels are set the same on the two channels, so the louder mic will dominate.

Kevin,

In vegas, select the audio track, right mouse click and there are your options...play with it, hit the undo key on the toolbar when i doubt.

You can also add another audio and copy the audio track to the new audio track. Pan one track to left channel and the other to right channel.

Note: We were all where you are at one point in time, Kevin....hang in there.

I would maybe rent or borrow a mic, as i think it would sound better with matching mics in stereo, and might save you a lot of trouble EQing the mics to sound similar.
also, maybe put them in a XY configuration to avoid phase problems.

Thanks Michael. This whole thing has actually been pretty stressing since it must be done right the first time. I' sure its only a matter of time beofre I am become familer with al the various aspects of everything. Marc: If one Mic does dominate, is this something that I can fix in post?

Brian: Thanks for the link!

Yep, I talked about this in post #12 of this thread.
