How to clean viewfinder
The title speaks for itself: How is the best way to get dust out of the viewfinder? It says to use a cotton swab, but the space to insert it is very small and I have some annoying particles hanging around in there. They are on the glass of the viewfinder, not on the lens. They do not show up in the video or on the lcd screen.

If the particles are loose and you just can't get to them you could try a can of compressed air.

Some are tiny and not loose enough to move away with a blast from the air.

I had the same problem and used acotton swab or q tip as some people call them but could not reach the particle until I bent the end of the tip over to form a small right angle and then was able to get at it.

I posted this earlier, I also have some tiny particles stuck on the inside of the diopterglass.
Some will not come of with compressed air. Please do not use a compressed air from a can, if blowing to long things get to cold or even freeze up. Have not been able to get a cotton tip to bend in the right direction. My previous camera a Sony 2100 had the abillity to remove the viewfinder with easy acces to the glasspiece. I miss that. |
Ann you need to grip the cotton tip with a pair of pliers about 10mm from the end with the pliers then bend the rest of the stem over to 90 degrees you should then be able to reach the dirt inside.

Thanks Alan, will give that a try.
