You really only need a wider degree bulb. Lamps Plus has a Sylvania MR16 bulb that's 50 watts with a 60 degree wide beam. No more spottyness with 16x9 :)

I use the Swit LED light. It is dimmable, has low battery requirements (no belt), has indoor and outdoor color correction built-in, has adapters for whatever battery you use or you can run it on 12v (if you get that version).

The only bummer is the XHA1 puts the playback controls in the hand grip so I couldn't use the clamp that came with the adapter. I removed the clamp and glued foam on the back side of the adpater and straped it to my handle.

I use Anton Bauer's ElipZ light. I have the ElipZ battery as well so the setup works well. At work, we have the Litepanel micro (the cheapest one they do) and it is nice, but I find that it is glaringly bright without diffusion. I used some heavy diffusion paper, but need to step that down a bit since it is too much. The pluses of the Litepanel are that it works on AA batteries and that it is dimmable.

Anyone using, and digging Zylight(s). Pricey, but interesting. They sort of seem to be the Nikon SB-800 of on (and off) camera video lights.

I use the Litepanel Micro. I like it but it's built flimsy for the price.

On Camera Light XH A1

Good day All, I have been researching frezzi Lights for mounting on my XH A1 and I must say I am more confused now then when I started.
There is an wide selection of lights and connection options.
My question is, Is anybody using a frezzi light on a XH A1 and if so how do you power it?
can it plug into the camera somewhere or do you need some kind of external power source.
I see on Frezzi home page they have a light mounted on an XH A1 but do not sow how it connects, Some help here would be appreciated.

Anyone have any recomendations.

Thanks

I use Canon VL-10 light. it's only 10 watt but it uses the same BP-900 series battery.

I also mounted two of them on a second cam on HV30.

I like the Varizoom led light. It has nice output uses Canon batteries and is a lot lighter and cheaper than a light panel mini.

I looked at the link. It didn't say the price nor the info that says it uses Canon battery. If so, that would be great.

I have this light but Varizoom does not sell it anymore. The company that makes it (Swit) sells it here: http://www.swit.us/s2010-on-camera-led-dv-l.html

There are battery adapters here: http://www.swit.us/dv-battery-mount.html

I'm interested in getting this light. Currently I have LitePanel Micro. Do you think this Varizoom light be brighter than the LP Micro?

Also, does the battery plate adapter takes the same battery as XH-A1 BP-900 series batteries? How does everybody be mounted on the A1?

Thanks for the info

Which is your favorite on-camera light and why?

The Swit (was Varizoom) light is much brighter than the LitePanel Micro. The Micro could have been brighter if they used brighter LEDs. The Swit has only four LEDs.

I purchased the Swit light and a separate adapter without the clamp. Then I glued scuba suit type foam on the back of the adapter to soften it. The battery and adapter are held on top of the handle with a velcro cable cable clamp.

Strange that I have been having a difficult time find the Varizoom s2010 for sale anywhere, as if it has been discontinued. In any case, it does seem to be a better option than the Litepanel Micro. If you know where to find them Swit, let me know.
Thanks.

I have a Kino Flo Kamio that I have used on my XH-A1 with great results.
