What kind of camera light?

I have looked at the led lights because they are bright and easy on batteries. But what size is right?

i think you have to figure out your needs before you decide on your light. i tried 4 lights before i settled on one, great light but too big (comer 1800).

I guess maybe I should add that I will be using it for outdoors. And dont have to have a l.e.d. Just asking what is the best light for my needs. Would like to keep it small as possible.

a light outdoors has to be 2 things. One it has t be powerful. Emphasize POWERFUL. It also has to be close.

When I was stringing news I used an Anton Bauer Ultralight with a 75W bulb and a filter and if I wasn't within 6 feet (or less) it was pretty much useless.

Today for my event work I pretty much a LP Micro which indoors with a diffusion and 1/4 CTO filter is only good for about 8 to 10 feet. Of course that light is only a 25W LED. Works fine for what I do but outdoors, nuttin'! :-)

So it depends on what you're shooting more thananything else. I can't really think of any on camera type light that's going to throw much more than 8 feet or so outdoors. Even a 100W Frezzi will be limited.
