Losing Footage

After doing some tests with the tape i lost footage with and now it films on that tape perfect. Why didnt my xha1 tell me that it wasnt recording properly? Kind of like how it says it needs to be cleaned. All of a sudden on the same tape it started recording again perfectly. thoughts?

I've had this happen once with my A1. It has never happened again, but I never found out exactly what happened. The portion of the tape after this mystery occurrence had the audio out of synch with the video also. The battery wasn't weak, record pause was never pressed, maybe just a bad spot on the tape.

Who knows?

IF it happens again, I'd send the camera in while it's under warranty. Also if you notice any other anomalies that seem worrisome. Otherwise, it was probably a bad tape or something. An intermittent problem can be very hard to diagnose.

Wish I could help more.
