1 Year in a 4 minutes Trailer
This is the movie I made for an wine-company in Belgium. It's called Entre-Deux-Monts, because the location is between 2 mountains (little ones) :)
I worked on this project for over a year and I'm curious what you guys have to say about it! Enjoy the movie! Entre-Deux-Monts Trailer By Gerdy Vandermeersch On ExposureRoom |
Not sure why no one ever gave you any feedback but I think it's beautifully done!!!
I can see why it took so long to make ....well especially having to wait for all the seasons to change. What did you use for the overhead shots...that air ballon...and what about those smooth dolly shots...in dirt? |
I too thought it was really well done. Great shots with well thought out music and transitions. I am inspired to produce films with the type of expertise that is shown here.

This is the type of work I aspire to create! I think it is great stuff.
One thing that kept going through my mind though as I watched the "trailer" is that if I didn't already know it was a trailer, I would have thought that this was the entire film in itself.... not necessarily a bad thing, this piece tells a story and can stand on it's own completely. I just have to wonder what could be done (other than stating "this is a trailer") to make sure the average person who views it knows it is a trailer..... maybe I am missing something here? Again, I love it and agree with the previous questions, how did you get some of the smooth shots in the field? Did you use a steadicam or dolly or something similar? |
Wow....those really are some beautiful shots.
Unfortunately I had to watch it with the audio turned off because I'm at work (shhh! don't tell anyone!!!), so the pacing felt a little funny with the silence, but the visuals? Really nice piece of work. I agree with Ralph though, about it not feeling like a trailer. Maybe it's the length? I'm really not sure. I hope the finished project turned out as good as the trailer did :) |
Great movie!
What equipment did you use? |
Thank you George...
I used the Canon Xha1, Letus Extreme and Canon FD lenzes... Great equipment for outdoors... G |
Gerdy,
The letus & Canon fd combination looks awesome! Very smooth bokeh... How did you shoot the aerial shots? |
Really nicely done, Can you elaborate on the opening sequence and the effects used to create it?

I've used After Effects to do the masking on the different video-layers. Then I made movement for each part of the mask. I somethimes made it moving in 3d Space. That made it a little bit nicer. Just randomly made the masks. A lot of work, but the result is good I think. For the colour effects I used Magic Bullet Looks. Great software for me. Grz G |
Very Cool
Very cool video. It makes me want to take my camera and go play in a vineyard!
|
Wow that really was beautiful! As they said before this hit me as more than a trailer in and of itself. What did you use for the title effect at 1:05? I have seen this done before where the text is linked somehow and moves with an object on screen was this aftereffects as well or a specific plug in perhaps?
|
Great to come back to the forum.. Thanks for the nice comments guys. The titles are linked with after effects yes, track motion it's called.
Sorry for the late answers: My answer to Randy: I also used the Indislider for that production. That's a mini-slider you can put on your tripod. Nowadays you already have a lot of sorts like Cinevate and Kessler for example. For the others I used Cranes and the Chairlift that runs over the vineyard. My answer to Ralph: Yes, it's a little bit long for a trailer. But I had an enormous amount of shots and it was a selection. Next time I shall do this, I'm gonna make it a little bit shorter! :) My answer to David: You looked at it at your work. How dare you! :) Now I also made a movie about a Hotel (Ariane), you can find it in a new thread. |
