New Music Video

This is the latest XH-A1 project I directed and DPed. I used a combination of an XH-A1 and a T2i Rebel. The preset on the XH-A1 was PFVISION and I matched the T2i to that. All scenes were shot using glass filters(Circular Polarizer, Soft FX 1, and 1/2 Coral) and custom white balance settings. Final Color correction was finished at Deluxe Postproduction. Let me know what you think.

Nice job...I like it.
Besides a tripod, what else did you use...steadycam?

Hey Jeff,

for every moving shot we used a Cameleon Dolly with Filmair track that we rented from a grip/lighting rental house. It's great to use because it has the ability to boom up and down but its major downfall is it takes at minimum 3 people to lift onto the track(nd you have to change the wheels). It also took an hour at the rental house for the main dolly technician to figure out how to mount the XH-A1 as the dolly is designed for use for motion picture camera heads, specifically for Mitchel mount tripod heads.

We also used a Monopod to make the handheld shots a little more steadier. And the crane shot near the end, we put the XH-A1 on the monopod, and stood over the car on a 10' ladder holding the camera out.

A major discovery we made was that with the Soft F/X 1, you had to pull focus during moving shots, and the instant auto focus on the XH-A1 couldn't handle anything we did that was in a forward direction.
