Tone? Touch Focus?

Do these cameras have a touch focus feature? I notice they produce colour bars; do they lay down tone as well?

Thanks,

James

by the spec of the units, they can do everything the H1 can do... image wise.. not codec.. thats a differnt ballgame..

as for tone, the tweakbaility of these units is what surprised me, which is why ive decided to migrate from Panasonic gear through to Canon (when considering HD options.. )

from colour, to gamma to DR, these cameras seem to offer everything one might need for almost any situation..

What do you mean by not codec?

You're referring to a 1kHz audio tone to go with the color bars as in the XL H1. I'm not sure about this; it's not in any of my notes so I'll try to find out.

Not sure what you mean by this, but if you're referring to a touch-sensitive LCD screen, no it does not.

Thanks Chris,

Yes I'm referring to 1kHz tone. The touch focus I'm referring to is the touch focus button (as on the XL1s) that breifly engages the autofocus while shooting in manual focus mode.

Hi James,

Actually that's more commonly referred to as a Push AF button. I'm afraid you'll have to start learning the accepted terms for these things or we'll be forced to send an operative to your house to start breaking fingers until you begin to see things our way.

Anyway, yes it does have a Push AF button. I made a close-up image for you that shows the various controls including the Push AF button, located just below the ND filter switch. Click the attached thumbnail to see the full-size view. Hope this helps,

I get all goose pimply every time I see all those buttons.

Must save 4 thousand dollars...
