Does it record LP and Time date stamp?

I know it records the Time Date but can it record at LP speed. I hate it too but some folks pay for it so whom am I to judge.

Jerry, I thought you were going the Sony route?

Anyway, yes it does record in LP speed if you wish, but only in the standard definition DV 4:3 or DV 16:9 modes. Not in HDV. Hope this helps,

Thanks for answering my question. I looked through the manual and I did not see a logical explanation. I own no pro equipment and please do not keep info on my purchases. I rent or use gear supplied to me. I consult so I like to make myself aware of the issues in matching wants verses needs.

The XH-A1 has a time and date stamp function?

The only info kept here is that which you willingly provide.

Yes. It's called Character Record and is described on page 89 of the operator's manual. It's available as one of the twenty Custom Functions.

LP recording is described on page 75 of the operator's manual.

I love it. People don't want info shared but willingly submit it? Funny.

Relax Jerry. Deep breath... okay let it out. Much better.

Chris,

Thanks for the verification on the XH-A1. I've been juggling the decision between a V1U and the XH-A1, this pretty much seals the decision.

Time Stamp

Hi,

I'm working with an XH-A1 with a client doing off camera interviews who wants me to time stamp good takes. I'm thinking I can use the Character Record function assigned to a function key that I can press at the end of a take to give a brief two second visual indication with a simple burnt in character string to make things easier to find afterwards when I'm scrubbing through footage. (if not metadata that can be recognised in FCP - I can dream). Is this possible? Can I switch to the Character Record (which I'm assuming is a superimposed code) whilst in active record mode? I'm trying to get my head round the custom functions settings but not getting it to work and the manual is not the most erudite on the subject.

Any help appreciated!

Bobby
