EBAY UV filter kits ???
 

Im looking for a uv filter kit for my canon a1 and noticed there are quite a few on ebay. Has anybody bought any of these kits that can give any sort of review ? As long as its a 72mm it will fit correct ?

or do i need a step up ring to make it fit ?

Don't skimp on a UV filter Chris, especially in HD.
Many of the "pro" filters on ebay are pretty trashy.
Hoya, Tiffen and B+W all make excellent multi-coated filters which not only help to protect your lens and remove UV, but supress internal reflection as well.

I bought the Canon filter set of 3 from Scott at Tapeworks Texas. The Canon filters are made by Tiffen.

I have learned the hard way not to buy off-brand filters.
I bought 2 different sized circular polarizers from Cameta Camera on eBay and they were both non functoning junk.
I have usually had good luck with Hoya, but once, when buying a Hoya UV protective filter in a local shop, I had to open 3 factory sealed packages to get one that was not scratched.
Since I am mail ordering 3 ND filters and a polarizer for the XH-A1, I am going with Tiffen. I have never had a bad one.

I can only agree with the above posts. After all, you spent in excess of $3000 on the camera itself. Don't degrade it by buying cheapo filters. They are usually cheap for a reason.
