How much did it cost you in Europe? they only started to sell camcorder in Moscow, here the price varies greatly, I wonder what is most common price?
Looking to get one or two, to add to my H1.

£2499 inc VAT at Ask Direct on ?Tottenham Court Road is the best i've seen. I paid marginally more and bought a Full Package deal from Proav.co.uk in Hemel which works out cheaper for me.

Jerome Marot February 16th, 2007 11:00 AM

€3500 in Germany, possibly a bit less.

Marko Grady February 16th, 2007 11:43 AM

Yes euros

That was a month ago, before the drop in price in USA,so maybe now is little bit cheaper.

Accessories seem to be much more expensive in Europe,at least in the South.

I got mine from www.kamera-express.nl in Rotterdam and payed 3519 Euro's for it.

In Germany you can get it online at www.mediaonline.de for 3333 Euro's. Sofar that is the lowest price.

The only thing you have to thing about is the guarantee. If there is something wrong with it, what can you do?

Carl Mischke March 1st, 2007 03:26 AM

South African prices

The best local (South African) price is R32 000 (which comes to about 3333 Euros at today's exchange rate) for the A1. I paid R35 000 about 2 months ago.
We're also in PAL country.

Carl,
Jo'burg

They don't ship outside of germany, however.
Here are some other german shops:
http://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/...-a1-canon.html

Note that it is sold out almost everywhere in europe! Stock is expected to be back soon...

Neal Reville March 5th, 2007 10:40 PM

I obtained mine in Brisbane, Australia yesterday (5 March), for $5780. Supplies are a little limited.

Enrique Morales March 6th, 2007 05:52 AM

I paid 3200€ (included taxes) in Barcelona (Spain)
The shop's name is Nivel10

Ian Henderson March 7th, 2007 03:31 PM

Not in Europe, but may be interesting... I paid €3233/R31,500 (incl taxes) in Cape Town, South Africa, from my local photography dealer and Canon agent.

[Grin] And that's R500 cheaper than Karl's best price in Johannesburg.... but then maybe his agent had to charge for dragging it up the hill! And yes, PAL land.

Salar Ghazi March 8th, 2007 04:34 AM

3303 € in for A1 in Berlin and Munich, including taxes.
Seems to be the cheapest so far, name of the shop is hificomponents.de , they also sell in Germany via the net. They had some A1 in stock, now they are sold out and in the moment, there is a delay, I am waiting for my A1 now for about 3 weeks...
All the best,
Salar

Steven Fokkinga March 14th, 2007 09:36 AM

Does anyone know where there is stock for the A1 at the moment in europe? Need one now and don't know where to order! Thanks!

Alastair Brown March 15th, 2007 02:03 PM

I am just about to order No 2 at £1970 delivered. Best bet is to e-mail me (use the link on the left)

Paul Lashmana April 8th, 2007 02:27 PM

I will pay €3725 from a local dealer (I have a deposit of 400 on my order). Currently, pixmania (Belgium) is offering it even a bit more expensive. I thought an official dealer told me once that the list price is about €4400. After rebate, he could offer me about 4000, but I haven't heard from then since.

Obviously, here in Belgium we don't have these big companies that can offer huge rebates (like in Germany). Might have been worth it ordering it abroad, but I like the contact of a local dealer. That's why I didn't buy from Pixmania either. Not for something expensive as this anyway.

EDIT:
Steven, my dealer told me a few weeks ago that the overall stocks in Europe were pretty low (like 10 pcs left). Maybe it should be a bit more now, but pixmania for example states a waiting period up to 10 days.

Darko Flajpan April 10th, 2007 02:02 AM

Well, seeing all the prices around makes me a bit happier. Price of A1 here (Croatia) is 2999 Euros (with VAT), which look like a good deal. I think it's time to say goodbye to my XM2....

You lucky B* :)

Darko Flajpan April 10th, 2007 10:19 AM

Yes, it's PAL version and cost is 22.882 KN which is roughly around 3000 euros VAT 22% included. I think you can also claim that VAT back, since Croatia is not in EU. I don't know regulations that well, but shop page is: http://www.m-computers.hr/katalog/118
They are OK, had some orders from them and they were fast and very polite. And they are from Zagreb.
