i downloaded the manual from here before i bought my camera and i tell ya it made a whole a lot of difference.

There's also free software to create presets called XH tuner and XH editor for Mac:

You can also use an mp3 player with SD slots to load your presets, although I found a Sandisk ImageMate SD writer for $6 in the clearance bin of a local drug store camera Dept. !

Holy weinerschnitzel! Great find James! Now we can really finesse those presets. I agree with a previous poster, there's a lot of great XH info in people's heads, but I'd love to see more of us posting it into DV Info - in between projects of course!

Creating Presets
 

I had an idea, but not the smarts to execute it...

Wouldn't it be nice to have a 'preset maker' that showed you a sample of a photo and you adjusted a colour wheel, or applied a colour gel, or adjusted a levels, and then all the crazy RG and GR etc. etc. settings would be generated automatically. It seems like a natural for somebody with some photoshop knowledge and a wee bit'o programming skill.
