So the woman was shot with an A1 and the man with an FX1 or what?

I thought that was a poor example too & thought maybe the wrong file was referenced.

Do you see a difference? If you do, What do you like better? If you see one that you like better I'll tell which one was it. I don't see a difference as far as quality.

I personally like the A1 better because of the ways you can set it up.
The FX1 is about $500.00 less but with less options. (no 24 fps is one of them)

Hi!
In the stage to buy either camera, I have done quite much research on the FX1 and the A1, but still haven't found any good picture comparisons between the two on the same web page/stream. Do you know of any, it could be shootouts or color charts, but it must be in daylight also, not only low-light pictures, where the A1 seems to win. And it should also be made with the needed adjustments in the camera so that you really make it a fair battle.

I saw this comparison between the HVX-200 and the A1:
http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/xha1/
and there the A1 seems much worse than the HVX (which is a much more expensive camera though), but I wonder how it compares to the FX1.

I've also seen these shootouts of the A1 and the HVX where I think the HVX wins in daylight but the A1 in lowlight.

But I would like to see the A1 and the FX1 pics at each other's side, else you can't compare.
Some people say that the A1 is grainy in daylight, what's your opinion?
Thanks

I liked the man better, because the white balance (or the lighting) of the woman take wasn't properly set :) I'd guess the man was the A1, but there's not much white area in the man's take so it won't be a fair compare. Bluish, bleak colors should mean Sony...

That site seems extremely informative by a quick look, I'll dive in to it as soon as I can. I saw the site before, but not this page.

It was shot during actual working hours in a foot clinic in very tight rooms.
I set both cameras at 30 fps, WB to 3,200 K, 0db Gain at about f4.
We couldn't turn the florescent lights off. That is why you see those tones.
The woman is actually the A1. Both cameras have been customized to look alike. The difference is that the florescent light hit one more than the other.

Well, we would need shots of the same motif to really compare.

The A1 is without a doubt the best HDV camera under $5,000.
The only question is. Am I buying this camera to make money or pretend that I am Pro because I use a Pro Camera?
or
Can I afford the extra $500 difference between the the FX1 and A1?
