Rain cover

Hi Thomas,

I bought Camrade WS - XL H1. That is an exelent rain cover, as the sound of raindrops falling on on the cover are not to hear. (I know this is bad English, but I hope you understand)
Not only great because they are made in Holland (like me),
but they are very well sold in broadcasting-land.
Windproof and waterproof cover for mini-DV cameras made of flexible, soft material, complete with vinyl windows.
Just Google Camrade to find out where to buy them in the US.
Hope I've been helpfull,

Thijo

Hey Thomas,

I got a Petrol rain cover, model PRLC-XL, for my XL2, and it works great. Rain and even snow don't get through if a bit careful (I live in Quebec, Canada, so snow is a problem when it's windy). I just love it, it fits loosely around the cam, just enough to be able to add anton bauer batteries or other add-ons on your cam.

I bought it at B&H's, here's the link : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ain_Cover.html

Hope this help!!

Thomas, I bought the Kata rain cover for the XL2. It seems very well made, but the elastic that goes around the viewfinder is super tight. You could actually damage the viewfinder trying to mount it. So I ended up getting my wife to cut the elastic and re-sew it a bit so the fit is not as tight, which did solve the problem.

Petrol vs Camrade

protection: both A1
The difference is the Camrade is made from a new material,
don't ask me what it's called,
but with this cover you don't hear rain falling on it.
That's a BIG plus, I think!

Thijo (I don't have Camrade-stocks!)

That would be our DVINFO sponsor, Tapeworks Texas. Give Scott Cantrell a call and he should be able to set you up with what you need.
