Camera Default setting (Custom areas)

I have a simple questions. I am currently learning about the custom presets on the Xl2. However, most of my shots in the short 5 weeks of ownership have been with out any custom presets.

When I just pick up the camera and shoot in Non CP/manual mode what are my default presets? For Gamma, knee, black etc...

What is the camera doing in those cases?

I hoped somebody with more experience would have helped you,
but better something then nothing, I think.
So I (as a newbee myself) will try to answer you.
The default setting are:

Gamma: Normal
Knee: Middle
Black: Middle
Color Matrix: Normal
Color Gain: You see the square in the middle of the line
Color Phase: You see the square in the middle of the line
R Gain: You see the square in the middle of the line
G Gain: You see the square in the middle of the line
B Gain: You see the square in the middle of the line
V Detail: Normal
Sharpness: You see the square in the middle of the line
Coring: You see the square in the middle of the line
Setup Level: You see the square in the middle of the line
Master Ped: You see the square in the middle of the line
NR: Off

You will get a plain picture, nothing wrong with it, but depending on what you want.
Just play with the different settings, I did it with my big screen TV as external monitor.
Easier to see what happens...

I hope this is a little bit an answer to your question.
If not, you better wait for the pro's...

I may try that one.
So we can adjust the default setting's then? For some reason I could not find that in the menu. Maybe it was the late night oil that was being burnt. I will try it agan.

I assume when the defaults are set that is where the camera is at all times until changed..

OK - I just went back trhough the menu and manual. I did not see any area where I can adjust these items unless I have a CP selected and then I can adjust that CP. Which is fine, I just want to know that I can or can't make these changes in NON CP mode.

But that's just exactly what a Custom Preset is... a change from the default settings.

It makes sense.

I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something.
