More or less. Unless I'm mistaken, it attaches to your tripod's quick-release plate.

I thought the MA-100 was a microphone adapter, if you mean the TA-100 which is the tripod adapter, yes it should.

Sorry for my newbie question: Is that TA-1000 mounted to the camera or to the tripod?? If to the latter, Ryan wouldn't get his troubles like this

I am currently using one of the larger quick release plates on my XL2 and it has a tendency to dig into my wrist when I shoot from the shoulder.
or am I now misunderstanding something...?

The TA-100 is basically a quick release system for the tripod-to-camera. So in the order of : tripodhead---tripodhead quick release plate----TA-100---camera.

Cheers

Hm.. my question in other words: where does the TA-1000 remain attached to, when the camera is released from the tripod: to the camera or to the tripod? (Sorry for any mistakes or misunderstandings, my english has got some stain... ;-)

Andreas, tripod. :)
