XL-2 feature DVDs?
Hey Folks,
I am new to the forum and was presently surprised to find such a wonderful online resource. Now on with my first question. Does anyone know of any DVDs (or online videos) that can help me get better acquainted with my XL-2? Thanks in advance. |
Have you seen this one?
http://dvcreators.net/media/demos/xl...aturetour.html It seems to get alot of pub here... |
Indeed I have. It's wonderful, although I'd love to find something a bit more in depth. Or perhaps more in depth on specific aspects of using the XL-2.
|
Yeah I know what you mean. I also need a better manual. I keep refering to the one I got and really it does not go into the depth that I need.

Hi Jeff, Ask and you shall receive: http://www.canondvguide.com/buyxl1s.html Very worthwhile, especially when it comes mysterious topics like presets. Enjoy, Michael |
A friend of mine bought that DVD and was very disappointed.
The best way to learn about the XL2 is to play with it. The user manual is adequate, but it does require reading and then applying what you've read. |
Indeed, the user manual has been somewhat of a help. I'm just one of those people that feels like I should know my equipment as best as I can.
I've been "playing around" with the camera for several months now. However, I seem to grasp things a bit better when I see it in action (as on a dvd) rather than just reading it off the page. Thanks for the link folks. |

This forum has taught me more than the manual. There are threads 4 years old that find myself reading. |
Indeed, I've just recently discovered the treasure trove that is hidden in the posts of this section of the forum.
If there are any real gems you find yourself going back to again and again I'd love to hear which ones they are. |
Jeff, use the "Search" tool. Type in any XL2 term or function and you'll probably find more information than you care to read.

Jeff,
FWIW - I just received my DVD that is linked. With in the 1st 45 ( All I have watched so far) I have picked up on several item that I did not know about. Example: Impact of using the Image Stabilization while using a Tripod. Basically we shouldn't. Also, the Mic must be oriented a certain way to optimize how it picks up the sound. anyway I just wanted to let you know it is well worth it and I am sure that I will learn several more items. |
