Skewed 16:9...?

I can't help it -- but after recording in 16:9, and then set the video to 962 x 480, it looks a bit over stretched. Is it just me and my crooked eyes, or what..?

What are you using to export your footage? I find Adobe media encoder to be a little (a lot) quirky. Start off using the presets, and then make your adjustments from there. Also, a screen grab would help ; )

I'm using Final Cut to edit/export it and then set the video properties in Quicktime Pro.

The appropriate dimensions for anamorphic footage are 853x480 square pixels, or exporting 720x480 with a pixel aspect ratio of 1.2. Exporting at 962x480 will give you a stretched image. Almost 100 pixels too wide.
