Loose tripod plate...
The tripod shoe-plate underneath my camera is loose, and that makes it a bit difficult to shoot handheld without getting a rattling sound. I've tried several different allen-keys, but none seem to fit (I'm not even sure if it's attached with screws -- hard to see). Any help appreciated.

Loose Tripod Plate
Hi Peer
Just had a look at mine and cannot see any external fixings. All the holes are for fixing attachments. I think it may be fixed from inside. |

tripod socket
Peer,
Yes, the tripod socket is securred from the inside. Two things could of happened; 1. the plastic retainer could of broken causing the socket to become loose. 2. the screw holding the assembly came loose. You will need to open the unit to tighten or replace the socket. Canon calls the part the part, "socket, tripod". Price under $15. Jim |
