Help!

Here's a question for anyone with an XL2, or even and XL1, for that matter. I just got my XL2, and I noticed that the front left panel of the grip (where the mount for eyepiece hooks up), seems loose - as in it can be pulled away from the handle. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Thanks!

Spence...

Please clarify exactly what you mean. Sounds like you are referring to the forward/backward adjustment for the viewfinder - Canon designed about an inch or so of leeway so that you could finetune the placement of the viewfinder. If you look again, you will notice that there is a lever to lock it into place. Is that what you are referring to?

Please do let us know,

Ah, no, it's not the viewfinder that I'm referring to. It's hard to describe, but I'll do my best. The handle for the XL2 has a left and right side, which I assume are supposed to be joined together (you'll notice a thin line running along the middle of the handle if you look at it from above or below).

However, the handle on my XL2 is not joined together at the front portion of the handle. Instead, if you pull on the left side of the handle toward the front (even lightly), you can see the plastic pull away from the rest of the handle, revealing a bit of space between the left panel and the shoe. This allows you to see the interior of the front left part of the handle. Hope this makes some sense...

Hmmmm, that isn't supposed to happen.

Where did you purchase your XL2 from?

Bummer. :(

I don't want to say where I purchased it from, since I know they're a reputable dealer, and I don't want to malign them. But I have absolute certainty that the dealer is well-respected. Thanks, though.
