My first full little demo project with the XL2

Hey all, it is compressed but wanted to share with those of you in the " club " before I post the other formats and make it public on my site. It was shot in 24p 16:9 but than changed and letterboxed ( though the letterbox was enhanced for effect.

Thanks and hope ya like it.

Looked great. It has a raw feel with the b&w, then turning to color was a nice touch.

Looks really good. The screen size is a bit small though. In comparison with this compressed version how does it look in a TV screen?

Ray--

You've done it again! Very well done, indeed!

Very impressive! Love the Black and White.

Was the B+W done in post or in camera? Looks like post.

Darren Kelly November 1st, 2004 10:14 AM

It was well done.

Did the client like it?

Thanks all, appreciate it. And imho it looks great on a TV. I'll try to post a higher quality version when I get a chance.

As for whether or not the client liked it ... the juries still out. We only found out that they were taking bids Monday afternoon and the deadline was Friday. Instead of just submitting some of our previous work and a treatment I decided screw it, let's just make one and send it in. Figured if I could pull it that it would be better than a storyboard. The finished demo went out out Thursday night at 7PM. So cross your fingers for me ! I think they're making their decision on the 10th.

Thanks again for the feedback. =)

Dude, that was pretty good. I look at a lot of the "demo" stuff I see on the web and it all is...umm...yeah. But that was professional and nice. Well done. One small idea, maybe it would look cool if at the end (when the colour changed) you opened up the letterbox a bit to symbolise opening up to someone...it might work, oh and one part (with the girl on the stairs), the music seems to jump up a bit (it distracted me from what they guy said). I just timed it and it is pretty much exactly 30 seconds too (good for TV), well done. I hope you got the contract man... <---grammar corrected to proper tense. ;)

Now I think I have to call that number, I am thinking of running away to Texas and I need intervention. :P

He should have heard by now - it's been nearly two years ;-)

Oh yeah, that little date thing means something doesn't it. That's what happens when you come to a site and use the search function. Heh heh. Well if he hasn't heard by now, I think they hired someone else. :P

Adrian, you have been bumping up a lot of VERY old posts. Most the stuff you are replying to is 2-3 years old =o)

ash =o)

Search function

I blame it all on the search button...heh heh.

I was searching for something a rather and didn't notice the date on it.

As they say on the internet: Noob Mistake (they also say: "1337 H4><0r5 p0wn3d roflmao etc.") heheh

Thing is the link still works! Even after 2-3 years! A lot of these ones don't work anymore I tells ya!

Just no one say this to me:
