I have a 4X4 version with rods and double handle grips. It works very well, and the grips help balance the camera better on the shoulder plus allow for better low angle hand held work.

Thanks Greg, can you please tell me if it works well in 16:9 mode, I have seen different matte boxes for 4:3 and 16:9. Can you remember how much you spend for the whole setup? Thank you for your help.

I use it as well and I love it for HandHeld. You can't go wrong. I bought mine used on ebay for $500.

Use
 
Use the MB for a couple things -- Easily add filters infront of the lens, bigger sunshade, Looks darn cool when the camera if fully rigged.
