Nikkor lens adapter

How can I mount my extensive Nikkor lens collection on my new XL2? Does anyone make an adapter? thanks
By the way - I am really impressed by the image quality of the XL2 with the 3x lens w/.6 Century WA add-on.

Optex, sold by ZGC, has an adapter:

I think it's about $265 but it has restored thousands of $ worth of old Nikkors from dust gathering to useful status. And the video is just great. The Canon 20X zoom is a fantastic piece of engineering but you can't beat a prime!

Hi Dan,
I used the Nikon to EOS adapter by the German Novoflex company. Can be ordered from B&H and their part number is NOLANCAF and costs $200. It will adapt any of your Nikon lenses to the Canon EF adapter. Naturally, focus and F stop must be manually set and the viewfinder displays a constant "check lens" message. I find that the Nikor 200mm macro lens is fantastic on the XL2 for macrovideo and my favorite lens for birds is my Nikor 80-400mm zoom. Just back from Costa Rica and found that for 90+% of my filming the standard Canon 20x lens, my Nikon 80-400 worked perfectly. I started doing macro with the Nikon 200mm, but found that putting the Canon 500D closeup lens on the 20x lens worked great and was much easier than toting the Nikon 200mm into the field. As I take both my Nikon D1x and Canon XL2 along to torment wildlife, it is very nice to be able to share lenses.

Best,
Phil Slosberg

I put a sample shot with the Micro Nikkor 105 mm at http://homepage.mac.com/ajdel/FileSharing5.html
if you want to get an idea of how these lenses work with the XL series (this sample was done with an XL1s).

I'm afraid I forgot to set the Hi Quality bit in this file before I uploaded it so you will have to do that with Quick Time or HiQual if you want to see the file in all its glory. Sorry about that!
