Black stretch and press?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can tell me what black stretch and press will do to my picture. any help would be appreciated.

What program, plug-in, setting is this referring to?

Jordan Walz May 3rd, 2005 04:49 PM

Glenn, this is just a variable setting on my new XL2, so I guess this could be in the wrong thread. But I though that this was possibly a general term for dv. In that respect, if you could help me out, that would be great but if not I understand.

I don't have that camera so I don't know what it does. It probably refers to the camera's gamma curve response (kind of like how brightness/luminance values get recorded).

The manual would probably have information on this setting?

Moved to XL2 Watchdog forum and retitled.

Black stretch will lighten the dark areas of the image, press will make them darker.
