Changing Lenses drops the shutter speed?
 

No big deal, just noticed that whenever I change the lens (20x, 3x) the shutter speed drops to 1/24 instead of staying at 1/48 when it is powered back up. Anybody else experience this?

There's only an obsure reference to this in the manual. See page 33: "the camcorder retains the settings of exposure lock and color bars" (and film grain, if you have it). Meaning, by inference, that it doesn't retain shutter speed.
